Above Category is a Sausalito showroom built around custom bicycles — “custom builds, handpicked products and cycling culture for the discerning cyclist, from the best independent makers”, in their own words. Consultations happen in person in Marin or by video, for a build, a product or a service question.
The builder list is a roll-call of the independents, and the shop names where each one works: No. 22, Bastion and Baum, English Cycles, Factor, Mosaic, OPEN, Pegoretti, Pinarello, Prova, Sarto and Scarab. SWI sits among them.
Servicing runs in house under a named service manager and technician, and they will collect a bicycle from anywhere in the United States, service it and send it back. Shop rides run on Friday mornings and at weekends.
If you want to see what else is possible before you commit, this is the room to stand in. We are content to be judged in that company.
