
Introduction
SWI frames are not assembled from tubes bought in and bonded together. The mould is machined here, the carbon is cut here, the frame is laid up and cured here, and it is finished here.
Nothing leaves the building half-made, which is what makes a frame engineered for one rider possible at all.
Manual work
Every layup is calculated for one rider’s weight, power output and preferred ride feel. The people cutting the carbon work in the same room as the drawing that specifies it.
Design and production happen together. Material behaviour, proportion and stiffness guide the process from the first ply to the finished frame.

Four rooms
The building is small enough to walk end to end in a minute, and every stage of a frame happens somewhere along that walk.

A monocoque frame is only as true as the tool it is cured in. Moulds are machined from solid aluminium, bolted, sealed and checked before a single ply goes near them.

Each rider’s layup is a different set of plies, cut to a different pattern and orientation. Here a specification stops being a document and becomes a stack of carbon.

Every ply is placed by hand, in order, in one continuous shell. There are no tube joints to hide behind, which is why so few frames leave this room each year.

Cured, inspected, prepared and finished. Raw weave, a single colour or something more involved — it is painted here and signed off by the person who finished it.
The people
A small team, most of whom have been building carbon far longer than SWI has existed. If you are ordering a frame, these are the people you will be talking to.

Founder, Head of Product
Stefano has spent years developing SWI’s distinctive approach to one-piece monocoque frame manufacturing and rider-specific carbon layups. He leads product development from SWI’s facility in Italy, combining advanced composite technology with an obsessive approach to craftsmanship, performance and detail.

Carbon Engineer
Giuseppe is Stefano’s right-hand man, working closely with him on the design and development of every SWI bike. Originally part of Stefano’s jewellery business, he has carried that same precision and craftsmanship into cycling and is now a master of carbon construction.

Lead Painter
We are incredibly fortunate to have Samuele as part of the SWI team. Formerly renowned for his work painting Lamborghini and Ferrari cars, he now brings that same precision, artistry and attention to detail to every SWI frame.
