A fit studio first and a bike shop second. Peregrine starts with the rider, takes the measurements, and specifies the bike from there.
Peregrine Bicycle Studio sits on West Fulton Street in Chicago and works the opposite way round to most shops. The fit comes first. A rider books a cycling analysis and a bike fit, and the bike is specified and ordered from those numbers rather than chosen off a shop floor.
That makes it a natural home for a frame built to a rider rather than to a size chart. The studio's range runs to titanium and steel from Moots, Seven Cycles, Stinner Frameworks, Colnago, Officina Battaglin and Scarab Cycles, and carbon from BMC, Enve, Parlee, Pivot and Time. Alongside the bikes they carry Assos clothing and bikepacking kit from Ortlieb, Brooks and Big Agnes.
Service and repairs run out of the same workshop, so the bike and the fit stay in one pair of hands.
Peregrine measures the rider before it talks about the bike, which is the only sensible order and exactly what a custom SWI layup is built on.
