Adam MacRae

A former elite racer who became one of the most recognisable riders in front of a camera — and the athlete in SWI's Canary Islands and Scotland shoots.

The story

Adam MacRae raced at elite level before moving to the other side of the lens, and the racing is why the pictures work. A rider who has actually held a wheel at speed sits on a bike differently from a model who has been taught to, and it shows in every frame — which is how he has become a fixture of cycling campaign work for Le Col, SunGod and others.

For SWI he was the rider in the Canary Islands in 2025 and in Scotland in 2026 — the Isle of Skye images, shot by Tom Kahler, that now open the dealer and ambassador pages of this site.

He is also the primary test athlete for the AER, the aero frame currently in wind-tunnel and safety testing at the workshop in Villafranca Padovana. Which is the part that matters most: the rider selling the bike in photographs is the same one putting the prototype through its testing programme.
